Form Templates

Form Templates give users ready-made capture form structures for each display format. This guide explains how admins edit, reorder, enable, disable, and maintain those built-in form starts.

What Form Templates Are

Form Templates are admin-managed starting points for the form builder. Users still choose a form display format first, then see Blank Template followed by enabled templates for that specific format.

Each template copies its blocks and settings into the Create Form page. Later admin edits affect future selections, not forms that users already created.

Manage Form Templates

  1. Click Form Templates in the Admin section of the left sidebar.
  2. Open a template to change its name, description, form type, visibility, blocks, or builder settings.
  3. Use only form-builder blocks and settings. Do not add custom CSS or scripts to templates.
  4. Save the template after previewing the form and success message states.
  5. Reorder templates so the strongest starting points appear first after Blank Template.

Visibility in the Form Picker

Enabled templates appear in the Select Form Template drawer for their matching form type. Hidden templates stay available to admins but do not appear to users creating new forms.

The template selector is organized by the display format the user already chose, so Inline, Popup, Slide In, Sticky Bar, and Full Page Popup templates can each be tailored to their layout constraints.

Quality Checklist

  • Keep the form focused on one conversion goal.
  • Use concise placeholder copy and a specific submit button label.
  • Confirm Sticky Bar templates stay compact and use only supported Sticky Bar blocks.
  • Preview the success message before enabling the template.
  • Disable outdated templates before deleting them if users may still expect to find them.
