Mailrith does not send or publish AI-written content on its own. You must review, edit, test, and choose when to send or publish each draft. AI drafting is available in these places: - **Broadcasts:** use a brief to draft a one-off campaign email. - **Sequences:** draft one sequence email or a full sequence ladder. - **Automations:** create a draft automation structure and fix missing setup details before saving. - **Landing pages:** draft a new landing page from a prompt, then review the page in the landing page builder. ## Before Generating a Draft AI drafting works best when the workspace has an active AI connection and a default model selected. If no connection is configured, Mailrith shows setup guidance and does not try to generate a draft. Write a clear brief before you generate content. Include the subscribers, goal, offer, tone, required facts, and anything the draft must avoid. For example: "Write a friendly launch announcement for existing subscribers who joined the early-access waitlist. Mention that registration closes Friday. Use one primary button to register." Do not expect AI to know private business information unless you include that information in the brief. If pricing, dates, links, product names, or promises are important, add them to the brief and verify them before sending. 1. Confirm that the workspace has an active [AI Connection](https://mailrith.com/docs/ai-connections.md) and a default model selected. 2. For a broadcast, open the draft from **Broadcasts** and click **Write with AI** in the **Compose** step to open **Generate Broadcast With AI**. 3. For one sequence email, open the sequence from **Sequences**, select the email step, and click **Write Email with AI** to open **Generate Sequence Email With AI**. 4. For a full sequence, open the sequence and click **Write Sequence with AI** to open **Generate Sequence With AI**. 5. For a new automation, open **Automations** and click **Create With AI** to open **Create Automation With AI**. 6. For a new landing page, open **Landing Pages**, click **Create Landing Page**, and choose **Create with AI** to open **Generate Landing Page With AI**. 7. Choose **AI Connection** and **Model** if Mailrith did not fill in the workspace defaults. 8. Write a brief in **Prompt**. Include subscribers, goal, offer, tone, deadline, links, and anything to avoid. 9. For a generated sequence, choose **Number of Emails**. 10. Click **Generate** for broadcasts, sequences, and landing pages, or **Create** for automation drafts. 11. Read the preview before you apply broadcast or sequence content. Landing page drafts open directly in the builder after generation. 12. Edit the applied content the same way you edit any other draft before testing or sending. ## Preview, Apply, and Review Generated Drafts For broadcasts and sequences, Mailrith shows a preview before it replaces your current content. Landing pages and automations open in their builders so you can review the generated structure before you save or activate it. 1. Read the generated subject line, preview text, and body. 2. Check that facts, dates, prices, names, links, and claims are correct before applying the draft content. 3. For a single email draft, click **Apply To Editor** only if the generated email is a useful starting point. 4. For a full sequence draft, click **Append Emails** to add generated emails after existing steps, or **Replace Draft Emails** to replace existing draft steps. 5. For a landing page draft, review the generated page in the builder, edit anything that needs work, replace any Unsplash image that does not fit, then click **Save Landing Page** when the page is ready. 6. Use the [Email Editor](https://mailrith.com/docs/email-editor.md) to adjust structure, links, personalization, and images. 7. Send a test email before you use AI-written content in a real [Broadcast](https://mailrith.com/docs/broadcasts.md) or [Sequence](https://mailrith.com/docs/sequences.md). 8. For [Automations](https://mailrith.com/docs/automations.md), inspect every trigger, condition, action, and unresolved reference before activating. Each item should point to the intended list, segment, email, tag, or page. - **For broadcasts:** applying the draft updates the broadcast draft content. Send a test email before sending to subscribers. - **For draft-only sequences:** you can replace draft steps with the generated sequence ladder. - **For published sequences:** Mailrith asks for confirmation before replacing published or active content. This replacement can affect subscribers who have not yet reached those steps. - **For automations:** Mailrith opens AI-created automations in the builder so you can review triggers, steps, and unresolved references before activating anything. - **For landing pages:** Mailrith opens the generated page in the landing page builder. AI landing page drafts can include AI-chosen colors, supported block styles, varied layouts, and Unsplash images when image search is available. The draft is not saved until you click **Save Landing Page**. ## Review Checklist Before Using AI Content - Check that the message matches your brand voice and uses specific language instead of generic wording. - Verify that dates, prices, links, product names, event names, and legal claims are accurate. - Confirm that the promise to subscribers is accurate. Do not let AI overpromise results or availability. - Remove any confidential internal notes or placeholder text before you use the draft. - Send a test email to yourself and read the test message the way a subscriber would. - For landing pages, preview desktop and mobile layouts, submit a test form, and confirm the form sends visitors to the correct success page before sharing the public URL. - For automations, inspect every trigger, wait, action, and condition. Confirm each item is configured as intended before setting the automation to Active. ## Failure and Repair States AI drafting can fail when a provider key is invalid, an OAuth connection needs repair, the provider account is out of credits, the provider is rate limiting requests, or the provider is temporarily unavailable. When Mailrith can identify the connection that caused the failure, it can link you to the AI Connections page for that repair. After you repair the connection, return to the draft and generate the content again. 1. Read the error message shown in the AI drafting area. 2. If Mailrith identifies the connection, click **Open AI Connections in new tab** or open the linked [AI Connections](https://mailrith.com/docs/ai-connections.md) page. 3. Repair the failed API key, OAuth connection, workspace assignment, or model default. 4. Return to the original draft. 5. Generate again with the same brief or a clearer one. 6. If the error says the provider is rate limited or unavailable, wait before retrying or switch the workspace default to another active connection. Rate limits and provider outages may not need a connection repair.
